Designed from original Pensylvania Railroad blueprints, this concrete and steel supply trestle was commonly found at coal and gravel supply companies. Available in 3 heights - 12, 16, and 20 feet (measured to the rail head), this kit can be placed along an elevated mainline or at the end of a ramp from a ground-level line. Cars were positioned and then dumped onto the ground, usually placing different materials or grades of product into specific bays.
The base kit features the initial pier with two wing walls, two mid-span piers, and an end pier, with 3 sets of girders, tie sections, walkways, and hand rails. The last bay parts are slightly different and feature a final wide tie and end posts on the hand rails. The wing walls feature a bevel that allows either a 33 or 57-degree sweep from the first pier.
Produced in 4 colors for minimal painting (concrete piers, black girders, wood walkways & handrails, and dark brown ties with black tie plates.. Tie strips accommodate code 70 or 83 rail and the initial pier is sized to transition from most commercial track to the kit's tie strips. Simply strip ties from commercial flex track and glue the track to the tie strips with CA. (we recommend BSI brand rubberized CA for a good grip that withstands expansion/contraction and vibration.)
