This detail kit represents a 1000 gallon propane tank often found at industrial locations or along the right of way where switch heaters are in use. It scales accurately to 3'-5" diameter and 16 feet long. The manway is 18" diameter with 16 bolts as per the prototype.
This 6 piece kit assembles quickly to provide service on your layout. Includes two tank halves - one with a manway, two support saddles, a dome, and an alignment block to ensure that the tank halves glue together properly. Tanks are often painted white, cream, or silver and sit on concrete saddles. Light colors keep the temperature low!
The photo shows the kit parts alongside the Walthers roundhouse to provide a good illustration of size. We recommend applying a primer coat of Rust-Oleum filling primer, then applying the desired color.
