The size of the bottle of scenery material
Our grass scenery material is an all natural, clean product for model railroad scenery in any scale. Consistent consistency with no risk of insects or metal byproducts!
The material can be used to represent natural grass and can be darkened as described below. It is especially good when placed under trees or mixed into areas with static grass for texture variety.
Simply spread thinned glue on the scenery surface and sprinkle a layer of the scenery material over the glue. Any excess can be collected with a vacuum cleaner once the adhesive dries.
Available in 16 or 48 ounce wide-mouth bottles.
Tinting the Scenery MaterialThe color can easily be darkened. Simply mix 1 oz of colorant (India ink, dye, or acrylic paint*) with 8 oz of denatured alcohol, pour into a bucket with 16oz of the scenery material. Stir until mixed evenly. Spread in a thin layer on cardboard and allow to dry overnight before returning to the container. Black will darken the green color, brown will soften it and make it look like drying/dying grass. Be sure to mix it in an area with adequate ventilation!*Acrylic paint must be thinnable with alcohol. Some brands do not work with alcohol as a thinner.
