These black straight pins are perfect for securing N and HO track to cork and foam roadbed. Pins are unobtrusive and allow easy removal for repositioning track. Use a dab of white glue on the tip to secure into foam roadbed, recommended when ballasting will not be done for some time or at all.
500 pins are enough for at least 150 feet of track when pins are placed into alternating positions - about 6 to 10 pins per 3-feet of track section. See image 2 for suggested positions. Fewer pins are required on straight sections of track. We suggest using pins only on both sides of the first tie leading to turnouts and then only on the two outermost points on the exiting side of the turnout to avoid any binding of the throwbar.

Stainless Steel Pins are chemically blackened, cleaned, and then processed with a moisture repellant that may leave behind a slight oily residue. This will not affect operation and will prevent oxidation. If you glue your pins, the shank should be wiped with a paper towel first.
